  Summer Newsletter 1: What's New at The Koetting Associates?

Our Doctors In The News:  Dr. Joe Castellano was recently elected as Seargent at Arms of the St. Louis Optometric Society. This one year appointment will allow Dr. Castellano to begin moving up the chairs so in a few years he will be in line to take the presidency of our local Society. Finally, Dr. Carmen Castellano was recently appointed to the Industry Relations Committee of the American Optometric Association. As one of his first assignments, Dr. Castellano will be attending the AOA's national meeting in Chicago in late June.

Electronic Medical Records:  Once again we would like to thank you for your patience as we continue to transition our practice to electronic medical records. This process has been long but we should be completely coverted within the next few weeks. This conversion will allow us to provide our patients more efficient care as we move toward the future.

"Visioffice" Is Here:  The Koetting Associates is excited to announce the arrival of "Visioffice", a revolutionary new computerized piece of equipment which will allow us to offer the most precise and individualized visual correction ever when it comes to no-line (progressive) bifocals. "Visioffice" is the first and only universal measuring system designed to obtain every possible parameter needed for today's individualized lenses. This unique measuring system will allow us to provide our patients the most precise vision possible, no matter where they look through the lens--instantly and effortlessly. We look forward to making this technology available to you next time you visit our office.

New Daily Disposable Multifocal Contact Lens:  The Koetting Associates is pleased to be able to offer the new "Proclear 1-Day Multifocal" contact lens for our patients who require reading glasses or bifocals. The single use modality is an extremely convenient way to wear contacts as no cleaning is necessary and no solutions are required. It is also conducive for patients who may want to wear their contacts occasionaly, such as going out to dinner or participation in sporting activities. News About Our Doctors:  On May 3rd Dr. Sorce and his wife, Melissa, welcomed a new little baby boy into the world. Parker Sorce joins his big brother Dillon in helpiing to keep Dr. Sorce a little busier while he is away from the office! Congratulations to the Sorces on their growing family. Also, we are proud to announce that Dr. Joe Castellano was recently inducted as Sergeant-at-Arms of the St. Louis Optometric Society. This is a one year appointment that will allow Dr. Castellano to move up through the Chairs until he eventually becomes President of the local Society. A New One-Day Disposable Multifocal Contact Lens Is Now Available:  For patients who require reading glasses or bifocals we are happy to announce a new one-day disposable contact lens that is designed to correct both distance and near vision. One-day disposables are a very convenient way to wear contacts, as they do not require cleaning or care. They are simply discarded after each use. Electronic Medical Records: Thank you for your ongoing patience as we continue to make the transition to a "paperless" office. A major portion of our records are now on computer and we should be finsihing the transition in the next several weeks. In the long run this will allow us to offer our patients a greater level of care and efficiency.
