What's New At The Koetting Associates?

  • Two New and Revolutionary Developments in Daily Disposable Contact Lenses: We are excited to introduce the new MyDay daily disposable contact lens from Cooper Vision. This unique design combines the oxygen transmissionbenefits of silicone with a very wettable surface for those patients who experience dryness when wearing their contact lenses. These lenses are now available and have a fairly wide range of powers. Also, we are now offering One Day Moist for Presbyopia from Vistakon. These multifocal lenses have a unique design that allows for clear vision at near and far for many patients who require bifocals or reading glasses. Please ask next time you’re in to see if you might be a candidate for either of these new designs.
  • Exciting New Developments for Eye Enhancement: We are pleased to announce the arrival of two newdevelopments in the area of eye enhancement. Air Optix Colors contact lenses now have expanded power parameters so many more patients will have the opportunity to experience the many color choices. These lenses are highly oxygen permeable to allow for healthy wear and are available in five “subtle” colors (Pure Hazel, Blue, Green, Gray and Brown) and four “vibrant” colors (Honey, Brilliant Blue, Gemstone Green and Sterling Gray). If you’d like to see how you might look in these lenses you may visit www.airoptixcolors.com, upload a photo of yourself and try them on virtually. In addition, we are now offering the brand new 1-Day Acuvue Define contact lenses. These lenses are designed to provide enhanced definition of the eyes without changing a person’s natural eye color. They are available in “Natural Sparkle”, “Natural Shimmer” and “Natural Shine”. The daily disposable design makes for great convenience and makes them conducive to occasional wear as well.

  • Revolutionary Protection for Your Eyes: We have long known that excessive exposure to UV light may damage your eyes like it damages your skin, accelerating eye aging and the occurrence of cataract. But did you know thatBlue-Violet light may also be harmful? Though some portions of the Blue-Violet spectrum help regulate your sleep/wake cycle and aid in memory, mood and other brain functions, some other portions may be harmful. Excessive exposure to certain portions of the Blue-Violet spectrum has been associated with increased risk for agerelated macular degeneration. Furthermore, Blue-Violet light is emitted from many modern devices used today such as computers, tablets, LED and compact fluorescent lights. Now there is good news! Crizal Prevencia no glarelenses selectively filter out harmful light while letting good light pass through. These lenses may be used in virtually any prescription and are available in our Eyewear Dispensary. For more information you may call us at 314-863-0000 or ask about Crizal Prevencia at your next visit to our office.
